Job purpose

Provides strong engineering support to the team and coordinates, Maintenance mechanical works at across SR1 – RPI assets under TL Maintenance Mechanical SR1, acting as Technical Service provider of maintenance and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards set by TSD to maintain the assets; through (1) Execute Maintenance mechanic (static &rotating) services on planned / un-planned maintenance works utilizing best practice. (2) Coordination and supervision of assets, products, and maintenance work in the designated area (3) implementation plans and execute maintenance works, and (4) Guide younger engineers in Mechanical Maintenance matters; in order to ensure that the assets and equipment are always available, minimizing the down time and meeting the operational targets that support the gross margin / profitability with a sufficient organizational capability for business continuity while identifying & developing talent people to as feeder for OQ talent pipeline.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives

Accountabilities: 

HSE and Process Safety

Provides a well-resourced source of expertise and advise in process safety in offshore applications by engaging consistently and transparent with stakeholders where dealings with duty-holders and informing the developments in process safety topics
Support the policy of HSE for the control of major accident hazards
Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team in safety case assessment, inspection, and investigation
Stimulate the research and development for the prevention of major accident hazards
Maintain awareness of current developments in process safety
Mechanical

Responsible and accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of all the SR1 Mechanical (Rotating & Static) Equipment’s in the area assigned to ensure highest level of Reliability and availability.
Performing planned / unplanned / shutdowns, turnarounds etc. of Static Equipment including but not limited to tanks, vessels, fin fan cooler, heat exchangers, valves piping, painting, Insulation, and scaffolding.
Performing planned / unplanned / shutdowns, turnarounds etc. of rotating equipment including but not limited to gas turbine, centrifugal pumps, centrifugal/Screw compressor, reciprocating pumps, fin fan coolers,
Develop the SMP (Standard Maintenance procedures) for all the Rotary and Static equipment’s in the area in consideration to RCM study Vendor Manuals, International best maintenance practices, Codes and standard and guidelines issued by TSD.
Ensure all the special tools, materials, and skilled manpower availability for the planned and corrective repairs on a daily basis.
Attend internal meeting (Project, Operation, HSE, TSD, Planning & other department involves in planned mechanical maintenance activities) to discuss and proactively resolve issues and work prioritization.
Provide inputs for development of maintenance contracts & its administration, technical evaluation on RFQ, control and availability of resources.
Technical evaluation of new tenders as required and participation in kick-off meetings on planned maintenance (CM, PM & TA)
Ensure all planned maintenance activities (CM, PM, and TA) work orders are communicated with supervisors (Company/ contract) and are executed as per plan.
Ensure equipment maintenance history & reports are updated in SAP (CMMS)
Identify spares requirements and keep maintaining the stock in warehouse.
Ensure approved planned maintenance sequential of activities & work prioritization and availability of required resources (spare parts, tools, drawings & workforce) are conducted accordingly as per scheduled.
Develop a well-defined back-up plan, such as organizing maintenance staff during on-call & emergency maintenance works in plant during silence hours / off duty.
Develop & implement solutions to maintenance process & activities ensuring risk of failures are fully detected, understood, and mitigated.
Ensure that effective execution of planned maintenance activities /services are conducted & completed in accordance with maintenance best practice and within period.
Identify the critical issues, repetitive failure of rotating equipment/static Equipment and work to perform the (RCA) and ensure the RCA recommendations implemented for the area & able to make plan and execution of work backlogs.
Develop and Review and update maintenance progress reports & contractor’s performance and takes appropriate action.
Plant Improvement and Modification

Studies and evaluates proposals for plant modification or improvements and provides recommendations on workability at the implementation stage.
Conduct HAZOP studies for new modifications.
Conduct Risk assessment, obtain expert advice from concerned departments and ensure implementation of risk assessment results.
Vendor Management

Conduct regular meetings with third party suppliers, including licensors, vendor and affiliated companies and follow up on deliverables.
Maintains close communication with vendors & suppliers.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position are bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering or similar

Language requirements 

Exceptional knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)  , Arabic - Native (desirable)

Competencies and skills

8+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of industrial standards such as ASME, API and ASTM.
Experience in in the design and troubleshooting of static equipment.
Experience and knowledge in project planning, cost control, contract development, installation, trouble shooting, and start-up.
Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
Knowledge of:
Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Expertise in SAP- PM
Process Equipment Life-Cycle Management
Knowledge in operating and maintaining the reliability of equipment.
Knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports
Knowledgeable in HSE plans related to maintenance activities.
Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
