Purpose of the Job

As a Market Intelligence Specialist within the Integrated Supply Chain, the role plays a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market data to drive strategic decisions across the supply chain function. You will be responsible for monitoring market trends, identifying competitive landscapes, and providing actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.

Deliver fit for purpose Market Intelligence to enable strategic C&P decision making aligned with business needs and reflecting market conditions delivering incremental value to PDO. Deliver fit for purpose strategies that are driven by market intelligence and aligned to PDO business objectives.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related
  • field; master's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry in CP roles, with at least 5 years hands-on experience in preparing and/or running contracts.
  • Proven interpersonal, influencing and team building skills.
  • Strong CP background in the areas of Market Intelligence, strategy development, data analytics, purchasing, expediting, CP systems.
  • Proven experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or business analytics, preferably within the integrated supply chain domain.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles, logistics operations, and procurement processes is a plus.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Market Intelligence program and ongoing maintenance of the MI program including periodic updates to the most competitive category reports and analysis  
  • Strategy development and drive Market Intelligence program to support both internal and external stakeholders for strategy and tactics building and injecting market analysis in decision making;
  • Engage and motivate CP and wider community to deliver fit for purpose CP strategies aligned with the business short-, medium- and long-term requirements and to support driving category management in CP.
  • Support Delivery Teams in CP strategy development by facilitating strategy/tactics workshops;
  • Update and Maintain CP Strategy / Tactics procedures, documents and templates;
  • Provide strategy and tactics training and support
  • Implement and apply a multi-criteria analysis methodology as a facilitation tool to enhance quality of strategy workshops towards robust strategy selection.
  • As contracting Strategy process owner – coach and develop a team of strategists from CP community as facilitators for Strategy/Tactics workshops; 
  • Act as procurement and contracting steering committee secretary and ensure pre-read for the sessions are submitted in a timely manner and to the required standard, prepare minutes of meeting for the session and ensure confidentiality of all proceedings.
  • Develop and maintain high standard knowledge and market intelligence base to support the business; 
  • Support continuous improvement drive in CP systems, process and practices by actively pursuing external best practices worth replicating and learning from the competition; 
  • Maintain subscriptions and access to relevant MI tools / sources. Gather, use and provide MI data to CP customers in fit-for-purpose and legally compliant manner;  
  • Lead and coach two National staff on Market Intelligence knowledge / skills development.
