Purpose of the Job

Drive System engineering management and transformation across the organization and provide best in class solution and support, to achieve highest business uptime.

Education & Experience

  • BSc in relevant field such as Computing, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in Windows servers environment and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in Windows Systems Engineering, installation, deployment, configuration, operations and maintenance
  • A minimum of 4 years of which must involve IT infrastructure planning and management, change management, networking, Data Storage and IT security
  • Strong understanding of ICT preventative security measures e.g. Anti virus, Patch management environments. 
  • Understanding of production engineering in an Oil & Gas company. Working experience in operation or maintenance of ICS environments. 
     

Main Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to the IT system service engineering function  and develops, manages, evergreen and deliver against signed off  service level agreements and operation level agreements 
  • Act as an escalation point for technical, strategic, functional issues that could not be solved by the senior system/service engineering technical specialists 
  • Responsible for developing and contributing to the overall annual work plans for systems engineering function and proposes budgets for the work programme aligned with business need 
  • Responsible for the closing of competence gaps by mentoring and managing a continuous and comprehensive on-the-job training programme
  • Identify security issues in the design and implementation of process control networks (PCN) and SCADA applications
  • Responsible for identifying/piloting of new computing infrastructure and its support processes and procedures for service improvement initiatives and business continuity plans for provided services
  • Liaises with incumbent vendors/ suppliers to meet agreed service levels and contributes towards achieving agreed operation level agreement
  • Manages supplier/vendor relationships to ensure benefits to the business. Also oversees the supplier and vendor performance across contract/s and procurement lifecycles and proposes necessary measures to improve the performance
  • Plans computing infrastructure fall-back systems and services and carries out periodic  testing and  review of business continuity plans
  • Provides expert input in planning and executing integrated computing asset integrity programme through preventive and corrective maintenance of all key computing assets
  • Responsible for service delivery in compliance with organization’s Information Risk Management and Compliance policy, Health and Safety and Environment guidelines and IT Service Management policy, processes and procedure for the hosting function
