About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

To maintain computer, network and transmission infrastructure across assigned PDO locations to ensure services are operational in line with the agreed service level requirements and customer satisfaction  

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Computing, Telecommunications or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in telecommunications or computer operations & maintenance.
  • Preferably with some experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Team player with a commitment to deliver quality and pro-active service.

Main Responsibilities

Manage Service Provision
•Resolve faults and problems in order to provide services 24x7x365.
•Calibrate infrastructure to meet Performance Indicators (PI) and conformance to Service Level Agreements
•Implement changes/modifications to the infrastructure based on authorised change requests
•Deploy emergency communications facility and emergency response services, as required.
•Participate in system audits and Emergency Response / Crisis procedures.
•Work in coordination with contractors (and vendor/suppliers) to meet Customer satisfaction.
•Adhere to proper handover procedures to backup staff and to team members.
•Conduct Preventive and corrective maintenance as required, keeping outages to a minimum.
•Resolve and escalate user problems as necessary using SMAX .
•Maintain essential stocks & spare parts.
•Report on performance & maintenance issues. 
•Commission new infrastructure & services to new & existing sites as needed, and decommission equipment as required.
•Provide support and resolve IT issues on wellheads and SMUs. 

HSE Management
•Adhere to the requirements of the HSE management System as specified in the CP 122 as HSE – MS Procedure and items cascaded from this document by the team leader.
•Attend the daily TOOLBOX meetings & monthly HSE meetings in the area.
•Maintain up-to-date HSE certifications and actively enforce requirements.
