The Rotating Equipment Coordinator will be part of the operations maintenance team and will serve as the technical expert for mechanical systems. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with all types of rotating equipment in oil and gas fields and/or petrochemical plants. Hands-on experience in a continuous process plant is required, along with knowledge of preparing specifications, conducting technical bid analyses and recommendations, reviewing and approving design calculations, evaluating vendor drawings, witnessing performance testing, and troubleshooting various types of rotating equipment. The Mechanical Rotating Equipment Coordinator will ensure compliance with Oxy’s safety and environmental policies.
Develop and update detailed work scope for repairs and overhaul of assigned rotating equipment and service contracts.
Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement plans to address gaps.
Proposes measures to enhance the reliability and availability of critical rotating equipment and minimize failure rate.
Troubleshoot and assess equipment/system performance to provide recommendations for long-term operational efficiency and reliability in a safe and effective manner.
Evaluate and establish equipment maintenance strategies as per Reliability Management Framework to optimize operational risk management.
Provide scheduling and status reports on rotating equipment upgrades.
Monitor, control and oversee the quality of preventive and corrective maintenance activities carried out by mechanical maintenance teams.
Review all technical original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals and advise the maintenance team on their technical content.
Ensure compliance with company standards and specifications; evaluate technical deviations that impact operational asset reliability and advise the Maintenance Rotating Team Leader on approval for deviations via the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Review spare parts requirements, including preservation aspects, and determine stock levels and material descriptions for all operational mechanical equipment to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
Analyze the Bad Actor list (rotating equipment), identify problems/issues, and provide recommendations to enhance asset reliability.
Manage equipment costs to improve mechanical activities, offer technical guidance on packaging, and optimize maintenance expenses.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
Review and analyze data from vibration monitoring and oil sample testing to predict failures, assess risks, and develop plans to extend the operational life of mechanical equipment.
Supervise major overhauls, rebuilds, and key projects for the Maintenance group.
Assist the Facilities and Commissioning teams with equipment reviews and troubleshooting activities as needed.
Ensure proper installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance practices are followed.
Review and evaluate vendor-supplied spare parts lists and prepare preliminary material request forms for necessary spare parts.
Conduct root cause failure analysis for rotating equipment and apply principles of Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Own and track reliability KPIs, implementing action plans to improve equipment performance, including Run Hours, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and cost management for repairs.
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with HSE regulations.
Develop and execute standard and customized training programs on rotating equipment for internal maintenance field personnel.
Provide 24/7 support for equipment availability, including unscheduled after-hours callouts.
Supervise major maintenance and overhauls of rotating equipment.
Create and update Bills of Materials (BOM) for all major overhaul components.
Review and interpret rotating equipment specifications, codes, and standards; attend HAZOP, design review, PSSR, and MEI meetings to determine work scope and technical requirements.
Oversee performance testing, emissions testing, and reliability testing.
Mentor Mechanical Technicians and Area Mechanical Leads by providing instruction, knowledge transfer, and training.
