Description
The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services in the private/hybrid and public Cloud, thereby bridging the gap between infrastructure and development teams to deliver software faster. The Cloud Engineer drives the migration to the Cloud and designs & sets up a best-in-class cloud environment together with EA and other engineering Chapters. The Cloud Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions, develop and implement cloud policies and procedures, monitor and optimize cloud performance and cost, and provide technical guidance and mentorship
Main Responsibilities:
• Build and integrate software tools to enhance an organizational system’s reliability and scalability in the cloud.
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based architecture incl. private & hybrid Cloud.
• Select and implement Cloud management tools incl. automation, monitoring, cost, security etc.
• Develop solutions and automations for operational aspect of Cloud.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud solutions.
• Drive the roadmap for Cloud migration to private/public cloud together with EA and product teams.
• Develop and implement PDO cloud policies and procedures incl. security & data governance.
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and cost.
• Writing and developing code to automate processes, such as analyzing logs, testing production environments and responding to any issues.
• Participates in planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement project.
• Maintains and grows knowledge of platform configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other technical & engineering chapters in PD
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and implementing IT systems.
• Must have experience in the product and platform operating models.
• Must have experience in Digital Product and Platform.
• Must have good experience in tender contractual projects
• Must have experience in managing a team of 10 people and above vendors/contractors
• Possess good understanding of SDLC cycle
• Candidates who is a PMP certified holder will have an added advantage.
• Experience driving results and clarifying priorities in a busy and/or political environment valuable.
• Strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with and make strategic recommendations to Sr.
• Experience in any formal architecture framework such as TOGAF, IFW, CBM, BIAN Expert at discovering customer business & technical requirement.
Skills & Competencies:
• 8+ years' experience in infrastructure automation, Cloud and Site Reliability engineering in at least one digital native or digitally leading organization.
• Strong experience, certified up-to-date knowledge in public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), certifications are a strong plus.
• Hand-on experience in setting up and maintaining a private/hybrid cloud.
• Experience in Cloud migration from legacy in a complex corporate environment ? Deep knowledge and experience of networking and security in cloud environments.
• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation solutions tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Familiar with continuous integration and related tools such as Azure DevOps, GitlabCI, Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Ant, Git, Sonar, etc. incl. container technology in CI/CD environments.
• Familiar with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, ELK.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions.
