Job Description
The Reservoir Engineer Data Interpreter is responsible for analysing, interpreting, and integrating complex reservoir and production data to assist in the optimization of reservoir performance. The role combines traditional reservoir engineering skills with data analysis techniques to develop insights into reservoir behavior, enhance decision-making processes, and support efficient field development strategies.
The Reservoir Engineer Data Interpreter is responsible for analysing, interpreting, and integrating reservoir and production data to assist in the optimization of reservoir performance. The role focuses on learning and assisting in the analysis and interpretation of reservoir and production data to support optimization efforts and improve reservoir management strategies. The Reservoir Engineer Data Interpreter will work under the guidance of senior reservoir engineers and other technical staff, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry
• Data Collection and Analysis:
o Assist in the collection and analysis of reservoir and production data such as pressure, temperature, flow rates, and production history.
o Learn to use data analysis tools and reservoir engineering software to interpret basic reservoir data and identify patterns or trends.
o Help with preparing preliminary data summaries for internal reports and technical evaluations.
• Reservoir Modelling Support:
o Support the creation and updating of reservoir models by assisting in data input, model calibration, and simulation tasks.
o Work with senior engineers to help validate the accuracy of reservoir models and simulations based on real-time data.
o Learn to interpret reservoir model results and understand the impact of different scenarios on production performance.
• Performance Monitoring:
o Assist in monitoring reservoir and well performance, including reviewing data to identify potential issues or inefficiencies.
o Support senior engineers in evaluating production performance, recommending adjustments, and ensuring reservoir management strategies are implemented effectively.
• Report Preparation and Documentation:
o Prepare technical reports and presentations based on data analysis and reservoir modelling.
o Assist in maintaining accurate records of data, reports, and project documentation.
o Ensure that all documentation meets internal standards and industry best practices.
Skills Required
• Qualification:
o Minimum to be holder of Diploma in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, and preference is given to bachelor’s degree holder.
• Experience:
o Minimum of one year experience either working or Training experience or academic projects related to reservoir engineering or data analysis.
o Familiarity with oil and gas industry practices and software.
• Skills:
o Basic understanding of reservoir engineering concepts and principles.
o Familiarity with data analysis tools is advantageous.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Good communication and teamwork abilities.
o Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques in the oil and gas industry.
Working Conditions:
• Flexible work environment with a focus on mentorship and professional growth. The job will include visits to the field if and when required as well as working during non-standard official working hours
