Job purpose

Lead Planning Team for strategic planning tasks, at Upstream Operated Assets  -  Growth & Planning, under  Head of Growth & Planning to link  operation improvement and development of plans through gathering, analyzing and organizing information path to growth and profitability amidst constant change in order to align business activities to Upstream’s vision & strategy and optimize level of operational  activities.

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies as well as policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Determine and develop the most suitable and economically viable engineering methods throughout the development stages and oversee procedures.
  • Identify, collect and sort necessary data substantially can yield performance information on various Upstream Operated Assets departments.
  • Develop strategic plans by analyzing input data and technology roadmap.
  • Act as partners and government liaison and follow all regulation and procedures.
  • Develop long term plans including integration and evaluation of production, capex/opex and future programs/activities.
  • Monitor industry best practices, aware of business and market trends.
  • Assess on-going projects and make recommendations regarding their future development.
  • Cooperate in the preparation of “project development” section of Upstream Business Plan.
  • Continuously assessing & identifying priorities and objectives and selecting valuable strategies.
  • Undertake risk assessment based on cost-benefit analyses - leading either to justifying expenditures or recommending countermeasures for protecting assets.
  • Lead, Monitor and report Planning, with Continuous Improvement to contribute to cost efficiency, increased reliability, quality and safety.
  • Regularly tract performance of major activities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop consolidated annual business plan
  • Prepare and furnish reports to various stakeholders
  • Research and analyze technology best practice to identify approaches, systems to be adopted to ensure the most adequate technology and systems

Education requirements

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read and spoken English (required)

Competencies and skills

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in similar role Planning and Performance
  • Experience in Asset Management and performance tracking
  • Knowledge of petroleum economics
  • Management of partners and government relations
