POSITION TITLE Senior ESG Officer
ROLE PURPOSE
Drive and implement OLNG’s sustainability objectives by leading the development of strategies and sustainability initiatives, developing ESG report, and managing performance & compliance of functions’ activities on sustainability metrics in order to enhance OLNG’s sustainability efforts in line with established policies, processes and applicable regulations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Sustainability Strategy Development:
• Support the development of OLNG’s Sustainability Affairs strategy and guidelines in line with laws
• Contribute to the development of OLNG’s Sustainability Engagement strategy and provide functional expertise when needed
• Overall, Support the planning of sustainability strategy, framework and roadmap programs and protocols, and the development of these initiatives in accordance with the business lines and key business priorities in order to ensure continuous support and engagement with the business
Development of Frameworks:
• Support the development of the corporate consequences matrix and provide guidelines accordingly
• Support in defining the sustainability framework and accordingly align OLNG’s corporate strategy and policies
Driving Sustainability:
• Monitor on sustainability initiatives that can be pursued by the business and subsequently lead the development and implementation of the business/functions' sustainability strategy
• Support the development and delivery of the Sustainability Action Plan, working across the organisation to drive initiatives across all business areas
• Monitor sustainability program operations to ensure compliance with environmental or governmental regulations
• Assist to develop procedures to monitor organizational activities
• Assist to develop methodologies to assess the viability/success of sustainability initiatives and recommend and implement improvements as necessary
• Support in identifying and evaluating pilot projects or programs to enhance the sustainability research agenda
• Contribute to establish, assess, and analyse OLNG policies and processes to identify areas and processes in which improvements can be made in accordance with the organization’s commitment to sustainability
Sustainability Performance & Reporting:
• Build and maintain to translate the different functions’ demands and requirements into a consolidated OLNG wide sustainability business plan and create a balanced corporate score card with sustainability performance indicators to measure success
• Support to build sustainability metrics and dashboards
• Prepare and develop to collect data according to the GRI framework and prepare the yearly ESG report to be shared with the relevant stakeholders
• Overall, support the team for the performance management, compliance, monitoring and reporting of sustainability works/commitments at OLNG by measuring the performance of sustainability function wise, and adding value to the Social Impact assessment data & environmental impact assessment data
• Be fully responsible of the ESG data collection software, system, and integrity of the data including those related to Environment, Social, and governance.
Sustainability Advocacy:
• Build and maintain interface of sustainability agenda with respective stakeholders in Oman Investment Authority (OIA)
• Overall, engage with internal and external advocacy of OLNG's sustainability objectives, strategies, and policy
Risk Management:
• Support to conduct sustainability or environment related risk assessments, highlight risks and threats to achieving sustainability goals
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• identify research areas for innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability, in line with the OLNG's strategic objectives
• Identify educational, training, or other development opportunities for pertaining to sustainability, for employees within OLNG
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Required:
· B.Sc in Engineering or Environment.
Desired:
· Master degree in science
· Or equivalent as technical discipline
· Minimum 5 years, Maximum 8 years’ experience in fields related to Sustainability, mainly Climate, marine environment, CO2 abatement, waste & circular economy.
· At least one year of experience with sustainability practices, and applicable laws and regulations
· Demonstrated experience in delivery of projects, development of frameworks & successful mgt of stakeholders
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Normal Work Schedule
· Regular visits to Muscat and manufacturing facilities
