About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

 

Purpose of the Job

The Agile Transformation Coach encourages, empowers, and coaches leaders and teams. The Agile Coach will coach formally and informally business and technology leaders (from N-1 to product owners) and support product/platform teams in launch and critical phases. The Agile Coach will be a defender of Agile methodologies and evangelize core Agile principles in the organization.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience acting as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in multiple environments, incl. a fast-moving tech environment and a more traditional corporation.
  • Must have experience in the product and platform operating models.
  • Must have experience in Digital Product and Platform
  • Experience leading large teams.
  • Agile Consulting experience
  • Agile Consulting and System Integration experience in a top tier consulting organization highly desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of clients’ organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments.
  • Deep understanding of how Agile can be effectively scaled across the organization and awareness of various Agile frameworks and when to leverage them.
  • Experience in leading large Digital and Agile transformation at scale in large enterprise organizations.
  • Proven track record of implementing and coaching Agile & Digital to non-tech executives. Experience leading (and ideally transforming) organizations towards technology-integrated operating model.
  • Experience in O&G or other asset-heavy industries is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding and experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and tools.
  • Understanding of Visualization Tools such as Jira and Azure Boards
  • Understanding of security best practices in DevOps and Agile environments.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions into products within Agile and DevOps environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coach and train senior leadership on Agile concepts and principles.
  • Teach, mentor and improve Agile practices across the organization.
  • Look for ways to strengthen the organizations understanding of Agile, e.g., Scrum concepts and principles.
  • Build and coach multiple high performing agile development teams.
  • Bring creativity, innovation and thought leadership to push teams and focused on getting things done.
  • Identify team’s dysfunction and develop strategies to deal with them.
  • Drive consistent practices across the organization.
  • Bring transparency to the organization about development and grow trust.
  • Empower product leadership teams in building, growing, and sustaining a thriving Agile team.
  • Foster a continuous learning environment, helping teams to inspect & adapt.
  • Fostering effective communication and interaction with conventional parts of the organization
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate Agile methodologies with DevOps practices.
  • Lead (Or Knowledge)  the implementation of containerization and virtualization strategies across the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of automation tools and processes to enhance efficiency and lead times
  • Guide teams in leveraging cloud-native technologies and architectures.
  • Ensure seamless integration of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines within Agile frameworks.
  • Promote best practices for monitoring, logging, and security within DevOps processes.
