About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

  • Seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Transformation Lead to drive innovation and streamline processes within our Integrated Supply Chain division. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading digital initiatives, leveraging technology, and optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and competitiveness across the supply chain ecosystem.
  • Responsible for developing a long-term Information Technology (IT) Vision and Roadmap for CP that will deliver and sustain world class CP Systems that enable top quartile CP and Business Performance. 
  • Champion the use of SAP based and other CP Systems, identify change management issues and co-ordinate the change and improvement activities in CP as part of the IT Roadmap.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of the functional specifications of (new) CP System (upgrade) projects or change requests before handing them over to the Operational Excellence and IM&T Teams for project execution.
  • Ensure that the CP Systems are well maintained, operating effectively according to the intended design, and are continuously improved and benchmarked against the latest technology and best practices. 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, Information Management & Technology (IM&T), Economics, Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Contracting and Procurement, Supply Chain or IM&T function in the oil and gas industry with proven experience in change management of CP or IT Systems.
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in a leadership role driving digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain or logistics industry.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain processes, logistics operations, and industry trends, with a focus on digital technologies and emerging innovations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources effectively, and deliver results within budget and timelines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and digital platforms commonly used in supply chain management.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as Six Sigma, Lean Management, or Project Management Professional (PMP) would be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain HSE as priority through compliance to PDO house rules, PDO HSE golden rules and PDO LSR (lifesaving rules).
  • Develop and maintain a long term Information Technology Vision and Roadmap for CP. 
  • Act as Change Manager for the implementation of new or upgraded CP Systems in CP and Assets as part of the IT Roadmap.
  • Act as liaison between CP and the Project Management/ Execution Teams of improvement/ upgrade projects i.e. Operational Excellence and IM&T Teams.
  • Report progress against the IT Roadmap to FPH, CPLT, FDLT and other relevant Steering Committees and Decision Review Boards on a regular basis.
  • Represent CP in Technology and Systems related Steering Committees and Taskforces in the Finance Directorate, IM&T and Corporate wide, and ensure CP goals and objectives are met.
  • Communicate latest developments and success stories in CP Systems and Technology to the CP and Asset community.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient and skilled CP System Super Users or discipline experts in CP and Assets for key disciplines such as surface & sub-surface engineering, maintenance and operations, finance and reporting.
  • Work closely with the CP System Super Users and other CP Users to define the functional specification of new or upgraded CP Systems or change requests.
  • Agree and support data management and ongoing data clean-up plans for the CP Systems.
  • Provide reports and data from the CP Systems for CP Management or on CP user request.
  • Present CP System/ RabiTah process overview in Contract Holder Certification Scheme quarterly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with the company's overarching goals and objectives for the Integrated Supply Chain.
  • Technology Implementation: Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative digital solutions, including but not limited to IoT, AI, blockchain, and data analytics, to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze existing processes, identify pain points, and implement innovative digital solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
  • Data-driven Insights: Harness the power of data analytics to derive actionable insights, improve forecasting accuracy, and drive informed decision-making throughout the supply chain lifecycle.
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement within the Integrated Supply Chain division.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers, to foster collaboration and drive alignment on digital transformation initiatives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the impact of digital transformation efforts, track progress, and drive accountability.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and coach team members to build digital capabilities, foster a culture of learning, and empower individuals to embrace emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards and implement robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive supply chain data and infrastructure.
