Accountabilities:
Sr Control and Automation Engineer shall include the following but not limited to:

  • Manage all control & automation engineering activities.
  • Review and approve all consultants' control & automation design.
  • Prepare, check, and approve all control & automation engineering deliverables.
  • Provide engineering supports to the operations team.
  • Develop Material Requisitions for all control & automation related equipment’s/systems i.e. DCS/ FCS, IPS, FGS, Metering, Analysers, field instrumentations, etc....
  • Review and approval of design and drawings developed by the Contractors / Vendors.
  • Analyze and identifies long delivery items and requests preliminary information through the Project Engineer.
  • Provides I&C expertise to other teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine I&C calculations and data analyses.
  • Provides I&C expertise to MoCs and to brownfield projects and modifications.
  • Provides I&C expertise to hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
  • Provides I&C expertise in performing incident investigations.
  • Provides I&C expertise to ensure that cyber security risk controls are in place on all regional automation systems and that associated barriers are proactively managed. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and performance of the management devices in region.
  • Identifies measurement gaps, develops and implements corrective plans.
  • Ensures that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks in CMMS and Operator Workbench are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies.
  • Develops and updates the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback and performs periodic review of SAP and Operator Workbench effectiveness.
  • Performs reliability analysis for instrument and control equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trends performance metrics.
  • Provides I&C expertise to delivery of regional actions.
  •  Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Records relevant learnings in shared learning systems, incorporates into local activities and escalates high priority lessons.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination of design activities.
  • Review and approve change orders from Contractors.
  • Attending to Design Review, HAZOP & SIL reviews and provide close out to control & automation related actions.
  • Plan & Propose implementation of new technology.
  • Attending control & automation related equipment’s/systems FAT/SIT (inside/outside the country), SAT and site commissioning.
  • Participating, closing action items and approves reports from SIL Classification reviews.
  • Development of local young engineers and providing development programs.
  • Participating in Tender Clarification and Evaluation.
  • Participating in Developing Tender Specifications.

المهارات المطلوبة

Qualifications and experience:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Control and Automation Engineering or Instrument Engineering.
  •  Minimum 12-15years of experience in on oil & gas engineering.
  •  Experience in DCS/ESD/FGS, SIL/HAZOP reviews etc ·
  •  Demonstrated ability in C&A engineering for large projects with expertise in design, specification, construction and general project engineering of oil and gas facilities and a sound knowledge of planning of upstream /pipeline related Oil and Gas projects.
  •  Knowledge of international standards and codes like ISA, IEC, NEMA, NFPA, BS, EEMUA etc ·
  •  Skilled in Conceptual and detail engineering of instrumentation and control systems for oil/ gas Industry.
  •  Experienced in the usage of various instrument sizing software. Field experience in construction, commissioning, or maintenance will be an added advantage.
