الوصف الوظيفي

Position within the organisational structure:

 The Production Manager reports to the Operations Manager of ARA Petroleum E&P. He, she will have a team of direct reports consisting of production engineers and field managers. Laterally he, she will be on par with the Well Delivery and Engineering Managers. These functions also form the major interfaces of his, her work and simultaneously will be customer of the production department.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities, Job Activities:

  • Management (including recruitment) of people that may be in involved in one or more of the following aspects.
  • Overall safety and security of the company’s surface production equipment.
  • Process safety management for wells and all surface systems.
  • Collect, scrutinize, and interpret production data from wells and processing facilities using statistical data analytical techniques and latest technologies for production optimization and decision making.
  • Introducing where possible latest automated and digital technologies to arrest production decline and facilities downtime.
  • Ensure production efficiency, continuity, and optimization by working collaboratively with WRM team, Artificial Lift Engineers and Process Engineers.
  • Working knowledge of Artificial lift systems used in Oman fields, namely ESP, PCP and beam pumps.
  • Sound knowledge of oil and gas separation, heating, water filtration, pumping and crude storage facilities.
  • Ensure seamless oil delivery to the Main Oil Line as per the contractual quality parameters.
  • Generate working procedures for production team and ensure implementation of best practices for continuous production optimization and for arresting production decline.
  • Raising the red flag to maintenance and operations team for timely replacement of critical equipment like pumps, choke valves, processing equipment, measurement instruments and power equipment well before their failure.
  • Responsible for generation and submission of monthly Hydrocarbon accounting reports.
  • Ability to calculate oil, gas and water volumes at sourcing and fiscal metering points.
  • Calculation of field allocation factors by back allocation methodology.
  • Working closely with sub-surface team for determination of production forecasts.
  • Planning well testing schedules for timely testing and determination of short-term production forecast.
  • Working knowledge of international and national standards applicable to oil and gas companies for wells and processing facilities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure overall occupational and process safety of the wells and processing facilities.
  • Lead a team of field-based Production Supervisors, Artificial lift Engineers and office-based Production Engineers.
  • The production manager will need to make frequent visit to the field ensuring smooth operations.
  • Contractor owner for currently six contracts.
  • Prepare annual OPEX budgets and monitor expenditures.

Qualifications:
  • Academically should have a BSc. or MSc degree in the engineering disciplines.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 15 years work experience and performed at a management level.
  • The candidate has a proven track record with respect to operational asset management as well as HSE management.
  • He or she is capable of translating (office based) business plans to operational programs in the field and build a coherent team that can execute plans confidently in a safe and cost-effective manner.
