Responsibilities, Accountabilities, Job Activities:
The successful candidate will have to master two disciplines:
- Production Engineering.
- Production Programming.
The responsibilities within below headlines are:
Safety
- Ensure that field activities are executed in compliance with QAMP policies and procedures.
- Follow-up on well and process related near misses and incidents and propose and implement initiatives to eliminate reoccurrence.
- Pro-actively propose and implement safety initiatives – in particular in relation to process safety.
Environment
- Ensure that emission data is logged (flare, fuel and water disposal volumes and quality).
Production operations and optimisation
- Daily systematic communication and coordination with the field based Production Supervisor and follow-up with the required support to the field.
- Issue start-up and operating procedures for the wells (producers and injectors) based on instructions from WS, RE and Production technology.
- Optimise artificial lift settings.
- Verify daily production data and make corrective actions in case of changes. In particular make sure that well integrity data is reported.
- Ensure that the production database is up-to-date and reconciled.
- Critically and systematically review the validity of the existing process and operational policies and procedures.
- Initiate and write field trial programmes and tests.
- Write commissioning procedures.
- Prepare operating manuals, e.g. ESPs.
- Develop and maintain the integrated production software model.
- Prepare the short term production forecast (up to 9 months).
Planning / Programming
- Prepare the 30 days and 90 days operational activity plans and ensure that input from other departments are included e.g. Well Services.
- Prepare shutdown plans.
Reporting
- Generate a weekly production report (dashboard) and a monthly production report with reconciled data, well tests and tracking of KPIs.
Tenders, budget and cost control
- Prepare cost estimates for the budget.
- Participate in tender evaluations.
- Track expenditure on operational projects.
The Production Engineer / Programmer is expected to visit regularly the field to support the execution of specific jobs. Similarly, the candidate shall participate from time-to-time in field audits.
The Production Engineer / Programmer shall be part of the office based weekend duty roaster.
The engineer shall also provide specialist support to inter-departmental studies.
Finally, the engineer shall dedicate time to coaching of junior professionals.

المهارات المطلوبة

Qualifications 
The successful candidate has a proven track record with an operator, has practical field experience on a supervisory level and has preferably held a similar office role. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required. There is a preference to candidates with working experience in Oman. The person has adopted a strong attitude to safety and pursues best practises in regards to the environment and the health of field personnel. He or she is capable of translating (office based) business plans into pragmatic operational programs in the field. The person must master a good oral and written English and present well in the field as well as in teleconferences with the field. He, she has a BSc. engineering degree.
