The Total Process Reliability Engineer (Instrument) will be responsible for design input, (request for change) (RFQ) scope preparation, contract award evaluation, construction supervision, commissioning, and maintenance planning of the instrumentation & control systems associated with steam generation, power generation, water plant, oil dehydration, and well operations. The Instrument Engineer will also be responsible for legacy control systems maintenance, and modifications (i.e. Foxboro (Distributed control system) DCS, Iconex (triple mode redundant) TMR, (Operation software interface with process inter face) OSI-Pi systems. The Instrument Engineer will provide day to day support for facility processes and equipment, collecting raw data, trending, modeling and reporting of the control and instrumentation systems for surveillance purposes. In addition, will provide technical support to operating site personnel to optimize processes and insure integrity and reliability. The Instrument Engineer will be responsible for scoping, material selection, procurement and project management of small scale field improvement projects. The Instrument Engineer will also assure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
The Total Process Reliability Engineer (Instrument) responsibilities include but not limited to:
Surveillance of Mukhaizna Field instrument and control systems.
Conduct and Document Root Cause Failure Analyses on all Equipment Failures.
Familiar with Maximo software in PM, CM, RCFA and Condition Monitoring Functions.
Track Activity to Optimize the Ratio of PM’s to CM’s.
Supervision of installation and testing of instruments and control systems.
Accountable for the maintenance and updating of system drawings and documentation.
Scope, design, P&ID generation, bidding, contract award, and project management of field improvement projects relating to instrument control systems.
Knowledge of programming, operation and maintenance of Foxboro DCS, Triconex TMR, Allen Bradley PLC systems Programming and modification of Facility HMI (Iconics).
Work closely with Purchasing/Procurement to standardize equipment such that inventory levels of critical and consumable equipment can be optimized.
Determine the fitness for purpose of the various operating equipment and associated parts based upon specific equipment operating and repair history.
Consider impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting reliability problems on installed equipment; and performs root cause failure analysis to help prevent failures.
Understand Oil and water related processes and understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance principles. Will Possess understanding of basic economic principles and capable of performing cost benefit analysis.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferably in Instrument or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years involvement in instrumentation design, installation, and operation systems, preferred in oilfield systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of instrument control logic and process systems.
Ability to design, program, and diagnose Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers.
Familiar with Human Machine Interface development and maintenance (Iconics and OSI-Pi preferred).
Have good knowledge in oil analysis condition monitoring, vibration condition monitoring and use of applicable modules of Maximo.
Knowledge of DCS control systems (Foxboro knowledge a plus).
Knowledge of HMI development (Iconics).
