Asset Integrity Engineering Advisor will be responsible and accountable for the detailed engineering review, analysis, and development of asset and mechanical integrity improvement and rectification plans for the repair, refurbishment, upgrade, and enhancement of equipment and systems within Occidental of Oman’s (OXY) concession facilities and systems. This role operates under the direction and requirements of the Facilities Refurbishment Team Leader.
Reviewing, analyzing, and providing solution proposals for inspection reports, corrosion damage reports (CDRs), engineering service requests (ESRs), work orders, root cause failure analysis (RCFA) reports, condition assessments, and management of change (MOC) actions received from the Operations and Mechanical Integrity teams, including upgrades and enhancements to existing facilities and specifications.
Proposing/reviewing design solutions, performing/reviewing bid evaluations, and advising the Facilities Refurbishment Team Leader on repair, replacement, and upgrade portions of the work.
Interacting with all stakeholders and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Providing support and technical assistance throughout the entire project lifecycle, including design, procurement, construction, hook-up, and commissioning of related FRT scopes in all environments.
Interfacing with OXY’s Operations, Asset/Mechanical Integrity, and Maintenance Team Leaders to ensure the delivery of customer requirements and seamless integration into existing facilities.
Engaging with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors to review and approve materials and specifications in accordance with requirements.
Reviewing, coordinating, and providing guidance on technical issues aligned with FRT project requirements.
Offering technical guidance to consultant engineering contractors, manufacturers, and other OXY departments as required.
Reviewing material requirements before procurement requisitions to ensure suitability for the intended service parameters.
Preparing technical reports, assisting in management reports, and attending project meetings.
Drafting and reviewing cost estimates and contributing to budget submissions.
Ensuring compliance with the Company’s Management of Change policy and adhering to departmental procedures.
Participating in interface meetings with Mechanical Integrity teams, Operations, Construction, QAQC, Commissioning, and other stakeholders.
Engaging in design reviews, technical impact assessments, and review meetings with various teams, including Construction, Development, and Production, as required.
Maintaining comprehensive records of technical decisions, correspondence, and key integrity-related issues, capturing lessons learned.
Staying up to date with industry best practices in asset integrity.
Raising and discussing key technical issues with the Facilities Refurbishment Team Leader to develop cost-effective solutions based on industry best practices.
Interpreting and implementing local and international design codes and standards to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Evaluating and introducing new market technologies to enhance Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices and operational efficiency.
Compiling and communicating findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for future improvements to stakeholders.
Providing discipline-specific mentoring to FRT team members and other OXY personnel.
