The Senior / Reservoir Engineer will provide reservoir engineering support for the Reservoirs Characterization Team, primarily in the areas of reservoir management, simulation studies, surveillance, development, reserves, and evaluating development opportunities.
The Senior / Reservoir Engineer will work closely with the Geoscientists, Petrophysicists, and Production engineers to evaluate drilling opportunities and optimization/surveillance of waterflood in Carbonate Reservoirs Team. In addition, the Senior / Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for developing production forecasts, providing simulation and modeling support to ongoing studies, and contributing to the annual reserves update.
The Senior / Reservoir Engineer responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Providing simulation engineering support and field development strategy for new/mature fields.
Developing production forecasts, budget estimates, and estimating reserves.
Using different reservoir engineering classical methods to evaluate new and existing opportunities including applications of waterflooding techniques.
Identifying and evaluating field development opportunities and formulating Field Development Plans (FDPs).
Carrying out surveillance and reservoir management on waterflood project.
Supporting operations, facilities, exploration program, and workover activities.
Contributing to the preparation of technical documentation for various subsurface projects.
Evaluating Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects including Miscible/Immiscible CO2 injection, and chemical processes.
Providing support to reservoir management and exploration teams on an ad hoc basis.
Actively participating in the mentoring, coaching, training, and development of lesser experienced reservoir engineers, ensuring their Individual Development Plans (IDPs) are in line with their career aspirations and the company’s objectives.
Assisting with organizing in-house reservoir engineering training courses.
Participating in various planning activities including reserves update, budget process, and capital post audits.
Preparing for, and participating in various technical presentations for Oxy management, partners, and government.
Participating in relevant internal/external workshops, peer reviews, and conferences.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 7 years of reservoir engineering experience.
Experience in classical reservoir engineering methods is required.
Experience in reserves estimation and reserves booking is required.
Experience in reservoir simulation modeling is desirable using tNav or CMG.
Experience in corporate planning is desirable.
Experience in petroleum experts models (MBAL/PROSPER) is desirable.
Economic evaluation skills; experience using PEEP is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent PC skills (especially with Microsoft Excel).
