Job purpose Provide all G&G related insights and support in the planning and execution of Acquisition & Divestment activities (screening, evaluation, negotiation and delivery of new upstream opportunities & divestments). The position will act in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported with an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Oman government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities - Screening of newly sourced opportunities in line with OQEP BD strategy
- Stay up to date with exploration farm-out and bid round activities in Oman and the region.
- Support establishing and managing Business Development data rooms (physical & virtual).
- Support the preparation of teasers, confidential information memorandums, management presentations and investment/divestment proposals.
- Responsible for the management of technical data packages of the business development projects.
- Perform the geoscience due diligence work of opportunity evaluation with coordination with the project lead and other multidisciplinary team members (commercial, economic, legal, finance, etc.).
- Prepare and contribute to the required project documentation and presentation (evaluation reports, project close-out reports, etc.)
- Provide input to senior executives based on market intelligence and trends to enable the organization to increase capabilities in key areas that can give strategic leverage for future projects.
- Participate in gathering and analysing market intelligence information for new projects and opportunities and maintaining up to date information on industry trends and competitors
- Support the delivery of “Project Reports” (Project Initiation Notes and Project Evaluation Notes) of new opportunities.
- Mentor and guide junior staff to develop the overall geoscience expertise in the team
- Apply best practices of new venture activity

Education requirements | - Minimum qualification for this position is a bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or Geoscience

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience of geoscience experience within Upstream New Ventures for Oil & Gas companies.
