Job Description
• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery • Build a Maintenance & Reliability team delivering best in class performance • Build a stronger performance maintenance culture, including o Cash flow and cost improvement focus o Delivery efficiency o Technology application • Bring stability to work activities, through an effective work planning and execution process, linking short, medium and long term objectives • Build a continuous improvement mindset and capability • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager as part of the Maintenance team in block 3 and block 4. • In line with the above the pre-operations role is focused on: o Leading a team of technicians as they embed practical maintenance experience into the Operations day to day activities and to ensure the CCED facility can be successfully operated and maintained to the required standards. o Personally and through their team the MTL will manage site activities encompassing construction quality assessments for new assets, compilation of rectification punch lists, and detailed review of equipment/system hand over packs. o In line with the existing requirements an increased focused on coaching, development and formal assessment of staff to the level required by CCED . o Overall the MTL will be the Single Point of Accountability for the reliability and maintenance of CCED operational equipment in Block 3 and Bloc 4.. Included in this will be the risk mitigation factors associated with the Permit to Work and delivery of the PM and corrective work associated with the execution of the 2 week plan. o The MTL role presents a rare opportunity to be part of establishing a strong maintenance organization at CCED site which will aspire to the highest operating standards, comparable with the best of facilities in the region. o The MTL role will evolve by the time and will be tasked with the delivery of Safe, Reliable and Efficient operations. o The role responsibilities at this point will be: Safety/Compliance • Accountable to deliver safe, reliable maintenance aligned with CCED Values and for the ongoing safety of their technicians • Responsible for conducting a walk down of the proposed isolations prior to work commencing as a Performing Authority • Accountable for the efficient execution of work by spending sufficient time monitoring technicians in the field • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance work is completed as planned Performance • Accountable for the performance of their technicians • Responsible for monitoring the agreed upon KPIs and taking appropriate actions to close the deviation from target • Responsible for creating a culture of reliability and continuous improvement • Responsible for managing the maintenance budget within delegation of financial authority Work Management • Accountable for the completion of the work execution schedule • Responsible for resolving and/or escalating systemic issues that prevent completing scheduled work • Responsible for planning and executing High Priority Work • Responsible for looking ahead at the upcoming week’s schedule and ensuring proper resources are available to complete work as planned • Responsible for participating in the validation and prioritization of work for the asset • Responsible for ensuring that technicians understand and strictly adhere to the work processes and standards Capability Development • Responsible to ensure the staff executing work meets the minimum competency standards for the work • Responsible for continuous development of technicians to support the organizations needs • Responsible to ensure correct talent on the crew and that work is assigned to the correct crew member
Skills Required
• NVQ, City and Guilds or equivalent qualifications (i.e. in a suitable Engineering discipline. • Degree equivalent in the associated field (Mechanical/ Industrial or equivalent) • Required years of experience is 15 years or more in a maintenance role with an operating asset. • Experience in leading a cross-discipline maintenance team as part of an operating asset. • Experience of a Gas, Oil or Petrochemical processing plant. • Experience with control of work processes and safety golden rules. • Experience of an operational site leadership role.
