Job purpose

Execute all assigned mechanical maintenance activities associated with the process equipment at Surface Operations B -60 facility, through planning, initiating and implementing Mechanical services on planned / un-planned maintenance works utilizing best practice and safe standards; in order to maintain the operability of the facility’s  equipment that are vital for the production. 

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Maintaining Mechanical plant equipment, systems and devices located at site associated areas within the Maintenance strategy through routine, preventative and predictive maintenance checks and tests.
  • Carrying out a wide range of corrective maintenance and repairs indicated by regular predictive checks or reported failures as well necessary repairs by replacement and repair of defective equipment or components
  • IC, Mechanical is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facilities mechanical systems such as: life support systems, process integrity and protection, static and rotating equipment, monitoring and intervention.
  • Be aware of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) structure and help implementing HSSE plans and procedures;
  • Observe safe working practices within the facility and workshop areas and ensure that applicable safety, as well as environmental procedures and regulations are observed;
  • Ensure that all facility, isolation and repair work is carried out according to the applicable codes of practice and company standards;
  • Perform maintenance, repair and testing of a wide variety of mechanical, process plant equipment and systems;
  • Perform efficient and effective remedial action to correct and control malfunctions on a 24-hour basis;
  • Conform to Control of work in cooperation with permit authorities and operators’ staff.
  • Perform planned maintenance activities as required by the integrated maintenance plan in a safe manner to persons and the facility;
  • Understand the inventory and maintenance management system;
  • Perform Task Auditing, sign Isolation Confirmation Certificates (ICC,) and Permits to Work when authorized;
  • Ensure personal and formal risk assessments (where required) are carried out before the start of work;
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and handover reports; of all plant equipment and facilities to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the facility.
  • Is capable of working efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Support purchasing activities associated with spare parts, consumables and test equipment.
  • Ensure to Work safely and think proactively about personal safety and safety of others at work
  • Actively participate in, contribute to, and promote company occupational health, safety, security and environment culture.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the Company HSE and Security policies and procedures and meet company HSE goals and targets and participate in HSE programs.
  • Requirement of working in remote locations.

Education requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required), Arabic - Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Entry / relevant experience in similar role at the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Work experience in heavy industrial machinery design and maintenance, industrial internal combustion equipment, design and maintenance of rotating equipment

Soft:

  • Have safety and multi discipline maintenance experience in processing operations, as well as be able to demonstrate strong team building skills.
  • Good team working & Communication skills - spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated, receptive to change and capable of working effectively within a team environment
  • Be able to add value by being innovative and challenging existing systems
  • Ability to work in a diverse culture
  • Should be able to work at site in generally harsh climatic conditions
