Job Description

The Senior / Geophysical Advisor will be responsible to provide geophysical support for Carbonate Team and other teams within Mukhaizna Subsurface when required.

 The Senior / Geophysical Advisor responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  •       Geophysical interpretation for the new discovered and mature fields within Block 53 to input for geological modelling.
  •       Able to relate geophysical interpretation to geology.
  • ·  Seismic attributes analysis.

·  QA/QC of seismic data and seismic reprocessing projects.

  •       Work closely with RMT GG in the planning of every Thuleilat well and have pre & post drilling review of the wells, aiming Zero sidetracks in BUS/laterals.
  •       Involved in drilling wells, predict structure, hazards (faults, stringers, out of zone) & suggest extension or changes to the well plan.
  •       Work with PP & GG to evaluate the best location for the proposed pilot holes.
  •       Support GG to understand, rank & evaluate program oil to avoid drilling through risky area (high WC, high P stringers, poor geology).
  •       Support GG to investigate the presence, nature, extension, stratigraphic relationship, potential and other characteristics of the stringers found in the Thuleilat Field.
  •       Provide geophysical support to the reserves portfolios in the block.
  •       Coaching fresh geophysicists to achieve their project goals within the team.
  •       Mentoring Job seekers and summer Interns.

Skills Required

Other Job Details

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Geophysics or any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of industry experience as geophysicist.
  • Experience in using Petrel and Landmark software.
  • Extensive experience in the identification and utilization of seismic attributes to identify fractures.
  • Skilled in ensuring consistency between reservoir models and seismic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.
  • Creative thinker with a desire to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking with the ability to implement new ideas, processes and technologies.
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and possess the ability to mentor others.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present work product in an effective manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with other technical staff such as geologist, engineer, or technicians.
  • Must be able to assess critical seismic mapping necessary to answer the problem at hand.
