Responsible for conducting economic evaluations of existing projects and new opportunities, and to support PDO’s commercial function by enforcing the Commercial Governance Framework across all activities within PDO. Additionally, the Commercial Advisor plays a crucial role in business development, identifying and evaluating new opportunities and partnerships. The role objective also includes building commercial and economic capabilities within PDO, mentoring staff and contributing to the development of skills in financial modeling, deal making, and market analysis.
? Bachelors' Degree in Business, Economics or Engineering or equivalent.? Minimum ten years’ experience in the area of commercial, business development, energy products sales and marketing or related functions? Demonstrated experience in oil, gas, or energy transition? Demonstrated experience in commercial models and contracts ? Understanding of the technical fundamentals of the resources sector? Demonstrated experience of leading and participating in negotiations? Understanding of key elements of financial models and how economics and value are impacted by contracts and commercial structures? Strong Financial modelling and mastery in Excel ? Experience in leading teams and developing staff? Proficiency in senior management presentation and written communication
? Ensure the proper implementation of the commercial and compliance standards across all new and existing transactions. ? Identify, evaluate, and analyze new commercial opportunities following established company procedures to optimize value creation and strategic growth.? Collaborate closely with technical, legal, financial, and regulatory teams to support the management in commercial activities and ensure cross-functional alignment.? Interpret and manage the terms and commitments of key agreements, providing commercial expertise during deal-making activities, including JOA, Farm-out/in, PSA/Concession agreements, Term Sheets, and CA/NDA negotiations.? Support the development of asset-specific strategies and align them with the company’s broader business objectives.? Engage with key counterparties and stakeholders such as service providers, technology developers, and financial institutions to build strong partnerships and facilitate financing solutions.? Provide management with comprehensive support throughout the commercial review and assurance processes.? Review and validate financial models to ensure they are built on a robust structure and grounded in accurate input assumptions.? Maintain analytical quality by ensuring consistency, precision, and alignment with business objectives and market realities.
