ROLE PURPOSE
Enhance the security of the company’s IT infrastructure core and support services are up to date by executing improvement projects and supervise operational activities to ensure the same. Understand business needs and craft customized solutions to meet these requirements. Execute projects to improve the network standards and match OLNG’s IT network with industry best practices and in-line with company business objectives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan for and implement data encryption software to maintain the integrity and security of the OLNG data network.
2. Design and implement the erection of firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out tainted digital transfers.
3. Develop or update project plans for information technology projects including information to enhance the quality of the IT network within OLNG and to augment its digital security.
4. Execute new development projects and upgrade projects in line with international standards.
5. Participate in Planning of all IT projects to review the possible security hazards arising from them and to provide mitigation plans for the same.
6. Take over the support of applications from contractors upon projects completions and Support staff in usage of the business applications.
7. Analyze and solve problems in security and networking within the IT systems in the organization.
8. Maintain operational contacts with application suppliers.
9. Maintains status of support contracts; monitors performance/reliability and tuning; builds, installs, and tests public domain software; responsible for programming.
10. Own the alternate crisis management team member responsibility for communication channels and connectivity (IT).
11. Coach and develop the staff to ensure the minimum competency levels are met or exceeded by a yearly review of their training needs, on the job exposure, cross postings, preparation of a personal development plan and regular feedback sessions including mid-year and final year appraisal.
CHALLENGES
1. Ensuring availability of 24*7 IT Infrastructure Services.
2. Providing IT Infrastructure Services at 5 geographically spread sites.
3. Staying up to date with fast changing technological advancements and adopt and optimize the systems accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent
• At least 5-8 years’ experience in handling networking infrastructure and network security.
• Experience in dealing / coordinating with internal customers and vendors and suppliers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Office based role with base location as Sur
• 5/2 work pattern
