• Complete block size, sub- or and regional geoscience interpretations to identify prospective plays including: integration of core data, well log data, petrophysical analysis, geophysical data, well tests and/or offset production to generate play maps and detailed cross sections with the goal of identifying and ranking prospective areas for exploration drilling
• Generate and propose prospects for drilling, including risking and well proposal, well planning and drilling, post-drill analysis, volumetric and play updates.
• Create or support basin models and/or geological models (custodian of the Exploration team 3D static model in Petrel or otherwise), including detailed structural or stratigraphic interpretations where needed, incorporating geo-physical information (such as magnetic- gravity data, seismic (reflection-inversion) data, porosity/K models, HC saturation models, geo-chemistry, sequence stratigraphy, depositional models, and any other relevant data. Integrating other disciplines inputs.
• Focal point for Exploration STOIIP and its updates through integration with other disciplines
• Focal point for input and or QA/QC of exploration geo-science related studies internal or outsourced as per steering from assets manager
• Responsible for picking and coordination of well proposals and follow up of operations for all exploration/appraisal wells assigned by Exploration manager:
o QC well paths for well proposals and provide reservoir geology input.
o Advise on target changes during drilling based on the reservoir model
o QC and input to Formation Evaluation of targeted horizons
o Update model, as appropriate based on new acquired well data.
o Participate in all pre-pick and final well picks and offer advice as required.
• Control of all geo-science related data for the asset such formation tops.
• Stays abreast of emerging techniques and technologies in oil and gas technologies.
• Follows all safety, health and environment policies of the Company at all times.
• Undertakes the training of Omani nationals as directed by Management.
• Undertakes similar or related duties as requested by the Management of the Company.
• Understand the hazards associated with the task involved and implement controls in consultation with supervisors.
• Ensure that company HSE Policies and Procedures are followed.
• Ensure that safety is maintained in work places.
• Participate in all HSE Programs as and when called for.
المهارات المطلوبة
• Minimum 7 years of experience in exploration geology post (working on both clastics and carbonates is advantageous)
